In the year of our Diamond Jubilee we have three exciting concerts planned to take place at our regular venue, the Pacific Road Arts Centre Birkenhead and, for the fourth and final concert, at The Floral Pavilion, New Brighton. We welcome back Alexandra Dariescu and Callum Smart as soloists this year. Alexandra will play the world premiere of Mesmerism, our anniversary commission from Emily Howard, and Callum performs the much-loved Tchaikovsky violin concerto. Guest conductor Stephen Threlfall features in our February concert and, rounding off the season, the RLPO’s Jonathan Small plays the fabulous Strauss oboe concerto.
